Restaurants in Chennai

I had a client visit from USA this week (2 Americans & 1 Indian). Deciding the restaurants to suit their tastes was pretty difficult. food should not be too spicy, good ambiance and ofcourse good service. I took them to the following restaurants during their 3 day visit and I should say it was pretty good.

  1. Mainland China at Sterling Road - Chinese Food, my favorite was Fish Karuba.

  2. Saravana Bhavan at Shanthi Theatre Complex - South Indian Meals and the Sambar

  3. Wharf Restaurant at GRT Temple bay, Mahabalipuram - Seafood Continental/Tandoor Style and surprisingly the bar and the restaurant was not too expensive.

  4. Bikes & Barrels Pub at Residency Towers- the place was just OK on a Tuesday

  5. Virudhunagar at AnnaNagar- Spicy chettinad style chicken and mutton. My guest liked it too. The ambiance was good but they need to do something about their entrance.

  6. The Amethyst at Gopalapuram- Good place for a chat. I saw quite few foreigners there and the menu (including the price) is designed for them. My favorite was the Power Syrup (Hibiscus Syrup with Soda), was different and tasted gooood. Would go to that place again for a power syrup :-)

  7. Sri Krishna Sweets at AnnaNagar - Bought some mysurpa and dates halwa! and yes they liked it too.

Are there any other suggestions for restaurants in Chennai?

And inbetween all this we had some business talk too.
